A Description of work
A.1 Description of work
Civil engineer in road construction acts as a middle manager, senior executive or specialist of a narrower occupation in planning, construction, expansion and reconstruction of roads, streets, railways and facilities and demolition of roads and structures. The task of a road engineer is to develop t...echnical solutions in road construction and realization of project solutions, taking into consideration social, economic, environmental, safety, health and ethical aspects. Diploma Civil Engineer in Road Construction, EstQF level 7 must be able to work independently in complicated and unpredictable situations taking the responsibility for individual and teamwork results. Performance of work tasks includes sharing resources and management of work of others.
Diploma civil engineers in road engineering specialise in sub-specialisations of construction of roads and streets, bridges and viaducts and railways.

A.3 Work environment and specific nature of work
A diploma civil engineer in road engineering works both indoors and on outdoor sites. The workload may be distributed unevenly.

Engineering requires analytical abilities, accuracy, spatial imagination, creativity, independence, decision-making, adaptability and communication, leadership and collaboration skills.

A diploma engineer in road engineering at EQF Level 7 generally holds a Master's degree or an equivalent five-year integrated higher education diploma in road engineering.
