A.3 Work environment and specific nature of work
A Dendrologist's work environment is highly diverse. Collection of evaluation data takes place outside, while the processing, interpreting and documenting of said data assumes an indoor work environment.

Performance indicators:
1. Assesses a woody plant's dendrological, ecological, historical, cultural, social, monetary and other value using relevant methods.
2. Evaluates the condition of a woody plant using relevant methods and tools, taking into account the effect of different factors on the tree's vitality, physiology and resistance to breaking. Consults specialists, if necessary.
3. Interprets the results of research and measurements when deciding how to manage a tree. Consults specialists, if necessary.
4. Checks that the base plan complies with the actual situation. If not, the Dendrologist draws attention to the inaccuracy and either corrects it or arranges for its correction. Uses the base plan to draw up and formalise their work.
5. Assesses the monetary value of damaged or partially cleared trees and calculates the volume of replacement planting.
6. Compiles an assessment report based on the outdoor work and presents suggestions for the betterment of trees and their growth environment and the conservation of endangered species. Consults specialists, if necessary.
